Annual Services Report 2006

The Harrison County Health Department's "Annual Services Report" serves as a reference source describing the major activities and accomplishments of the the department, as well as outlining the various programs and services offered.

The Harrison County Health Department works to protect the health and safety of 8,850 Harrison County residents. Core public functions preformed by the department include but are not limited to:

Restaurant Inspections including school cafeterias, senior citizens centers and grocery stores.
Private water testing
Communicable disease surveillance
Analysis and disseminations of health risk data
Preparation of Public Policy Inventory, this measure will require health departments to prepare an inventory of public policies and environmental barriers.
Local Emergency response planning.
