Vital Records
The Harrison County Health Department issues certified copies of birth certificates.
Persons born in Missouri from 1920 to present may come to the health department and purchase a certified copy of their birth certificate for $15.00 each.
Death certificates go back to 1980 in the database. Anyone wishing a copy of a certified copy of a death certificate prior to 1980 has to fill out a request form and send it to Jefferson City. The first copy of a death certificate is $13.00. Additional copies - of the same death certificate is $10.00.
All birth and deaths occurring in Harrison County are registered through the Health Department. After checking the forms for accuracy a number is assigned to the form, signed by the registrar or a deputy and mailed to Jefferson City to the Bureau of Vital Records after 24 hours in our office. In 2006, the department issued 710 certified copies of birth certificates and 69 certified copies of death certificates.
This year we purchased a new state seal and a signature stamp.
